Most factory ECU's are set to maintain a 14.7:1 air to fuel ratio (AFR). The fuel trim on fuel injected up-to-date boat motors is controlled by the Engine management. Modification of the AFR, slightly at the expense of other factors like emissions, causes the combustion efficiency to improve so that you can save fuel. Although the fuel tuners are basically designed to gain more power and not specifically to improve the fuel efficiency, Dyno-Boost power chip does augment the economy in the case of normal, everyday boating manner.

This boat performance upgrade wires inline with the signal wire of Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor can be a standalone probe or the part of the integrated Mass Air Flow (MAF, MAP, TMAP, etc.) sensor.
